Vor 8 Jahren um diese Zeit is Margaret gestorben.

Ich habe ziemlich ausführlich über die ontische epistemisch gesellschatliche
und psychische Dimensionen des Erlebens und der Erfahrung geschrieben und
möchte bei dieser Gelegenheit über die Ethik, mit anderen Worten
über die Metaphysik der Sitten berichten. Als Grundlage: die Bibel,
die verbotenen Früchte des Paradieses, die Zehn Gebote, die Bergpredigt,
die Paulinsche Rhetorik über agape.

Vorgeblich sind "weltliche" Gebote Ausdruck des Willens des Monarchen
oder des Volkes, menschlich also im Gegensatz zu "himmlischen" Geboten
welche dem "Willen" des Gottes Ausdruck geben. Tatsächlich aber sind 
die Unterschiede weniger klar. Insofern der Monarch seinem eigenen "Willen"
Ausdruck verleiht, erscheint er als quasi-göttlich, oder als Gott und 
empfängt entsprechenden Ruhm und Ehre. Unter Umständen aber, und vielleicht
besonders in den jüngsten Zeiten ist auch (der) Gott abhängig vom Volke
und dient sozusagen als des Volkes Vertreter, und ist verpflichtet dem
Willen des Volkes zu gehorchen und Ausdruck zu geben; dann ist seine
Alleinherrschaft täuschend, denn tatsächlich ist er Vorsitzender einer
Demokratie. Insofern aber der Monarch in göttlicher Perspektive oder in 
göttlicher Weise regiert, beschert er, wie der himmlische Gott, seinen 
Untertanen ein unerwartetes Maß Freiheit.

Das Bekenntnis, die Behauptung, die Hypothese dass es einen Gott gibt, ist
allgemein in einem Maße, dass man fragen darf, was diese Behauptung besagt 
wenn nicht in Bezug auf eine tatsächliche Existenz Gottes, dann in Bezug
auf das Erleben des Menschen der diese Behauptung beglaubigt. In diesem
Zusammenhang ist zu bemerken und daran zu erinnern wie plastisch die
Sprache ist und wie verschieden die Bedeutungen sind die mit dem Ausdruck
Gott gemeint werden. Ich erinnere Zeus und seine Vorfahren, die Titanen 
der Griechen, die ägyptischen Pharaonen, indische, chinesische, japanische
Götter von denen ich zu wenig weiß um sie in Erwägung zu ziehen. Ich
beschränke mich auf jenen hebräischen Gott der im 2. Buch Moses seine
Zehn Gebote verkündigte. Von diesem Gott wird ausdrücklich erklärt er
habe den Menschen nach seinem eigenen göttlichen Bilde geschaffen, und 
habe dann den Menschen mit seinem, des Gottes Atem lebendig gemacht.
Daraus ist zu schließen, dass dieser Gott, wenn nicht ein Abbild, dann
ein Vorbild dieses Menschen gegebenen Falls meiner selbst ist. Demgemäß
frage ich was es beudeuten möchte wenn ich neben Ihm oder außer Ihm
andere Götter hätte. Vermutlich würde auch nur einer von ihnen Ihn
verdrängen und meine Beziehung zu Ihm unterbinden.

Gott als Vorbild für den Menschen, der die Welt erschafft und richtet. Dessen
Zeit die ewige Gegenwart ist. Ich bemerke die Entwicklung der Gottesvorstellung
im Alten so auch wie im Neuen Testament. Gott, so scheint es, ist ein 
unentbehrlicher Bestandteil der menschlichen Gesellschaft,des menschlichen
Daseins. Wie die Person Jahwes über die Juden, die Person Jesu über die
Christen, so geben Zeus und Heracles Aufschluss über die Alten Griechen.
